Does anyone have any recommendations for fun social hockey festival that happens on this weekend? Preferably with as little grass hockey as possible because we are rubbish at it!

Midsummer Madness 2006 is a mixed hockey festival (made up of men’s hockey teams and women’s hockey teams) held over the weekend of 7th, 8th and 9th July 2006, in East Sussex.

The festival is held all on one site at the Southdown Sports Club in Lewes where you can enjoy your hockey, beer, food and accommodation (camping)!

Friday: Teams arrive late afternoon to set up camp and warm up for the weekend. There will be a band playing in the clubhouse, a late bar and a fantastic curry (curry to be pre-booked and pre-paid)!

Saturday: Hockey will dominate the day with matches held on two grass pitches and one Astroturf pitch. In the evening there will be a Midsummer Madness party with a great BBQ (included in cost of entry), disco and late bar.

Sunday: There will be more hockey in the morning followed by a band in the afternoon.

The Southdown Club is very proud to announce the arrival of fantastic new caterers who will be around all weekend providing players with food and great new bar staff to make sure everyone is well hydrated!! There will also be a pitch side bar by the Astroturf pitch!!

This year the Tiktournament take place on 16, 17 and 18th of June 2006

In the centre of Holland this annual tournament is known for its’ hospitality and famous Dutch beer. 38 teams, 3 days of great party, 5 decent meals, various live bands/acts, camping on hockey site, fun hang-over, drive-inn shows, very special wake-up call, eggs, nails, beer and soda are the key words for this well organized tournament. On Friday night we kick-of with a perfect warm-up party just to get things started. On Saturday morning we wake you up in a way you will never forget. After breakfast it’s time for hockey and after hockey it’s time for a good meal (NO stupid BBQ) and than…another party, but now for real!! Sunday will bring you even more hockey and pleasure. Throughout the tournament you can enjoy various acts and live bands.Also you can follow the Fifa World Cup 2006 on television or a large screen!

At Easter 2006 (Friday the 14th, Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th of April) we proudly present the Fourteenth edition of the Dutch Open Six a Side International Tournament.

Last year it again turned out to be a great event and we are working on an even better edition. The goal is upper level hockey in an atmosphere of having fun together.

By combining six-a-side matches with boarding on a third of an official pitch and the Disco inferno style for the parties, the tournament will be fun on and off the pitch. Moreover, you even do not need a full team to come.

Teams that joined in last year do not need any encouragement to subscribe again. With English, German, French and Dutch teams last year it was a great success.

The annual Hockeytournament will be held for the 14th time. Just like last year we will work with a familiar concept: On Friday and Saturday evening there will be good dinner buffet. On Saturday and Sunday we serve a continental breakfast and a lunch. Last years competitors have had a great time (we have been told) but due to our success formula, we could not allow everybody to enter the tournament. So be quick to apply for the tournament. We will play with both ladies and men in different categories, for teams that prefer fun to performing have a recreational pool and for teams that really want to perform we have the performance pool. We would like to direct special attention to the fact that it is an international tournament, so we are pleased to welcome each year teams from all over Europe; German, Belgian, Swiss, Irish, Welsh and English teams have performed at HC Derbys tournament in the past.

The costs of the tournament will be 30 Euro's per person

Festival for Mens and ladies teams. Running for over twenty years. Takes place over the first Bank holiday weekend in May ( April 29th, 30th, May 1st ). Centered at the famous Vine Pavillion in Sevenoaks - home of one of England's oldest cricket grounds. In recent years, teams have attended from all over Europe as well as Canada and, of course, the UK. Entertainment provided throughout the weekend.

Now in it's 4th year Durham city are hosting their annual mixed festival on the 22nd and 23rd april 2006. It's a weekend of lots of hockey and fun filled evenings. The ability range is wide so new or established teams may enter. Can a team please enter to take the trophy from Chester HC!
